About Adam Frost | Guitar Teacher in Chippenham, Wiltshire

I’m Adam Frost — a guitarist, bassist, performer and music teacher based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. I’ve been a full-time musician since 2015, and alongside an active performing career I’ve been teaching students of all ages and abilities across Wiltshire and beyond.

Whether you’re an absolute beginner picking up a guitar for the first time, a returning player looking to develop further, or a young musician with ambitions to perform, lessons are built around you — your goals, your musical interests and your pace.

My Background

I grew up between Chippenham and Calne, and music has been a constant throughout my life. I began teaching myself guitar at 15, started performing at 18, and have been lucky enough to make music my full-time career ever since.

Alongside teaching, I perform regularly across the UK and internationally — as a solo artist, as part of various projects, and fronting my own function band at weddings, private parties and corporate events. Over the years I’ve played some wonderful venues and festivals, shared stages with some fantastic artists, and gathered a huge amount of experience across a wide range of musical contexts. That experience feeds directly into the way I teach.

I hold a BSc in Sound Technology and Digital Music and Grade 8 Guitar with Distinction, and I’m DBS checked.

Some Career Highlights

I feel very fortunate to have had some genuinely memorable musical experiences over the years:

Performed at Glastonbury Festival, Boomtown Fair and WOMAD
Played venues including KOKO in London and O2 Academies across the UK, as well as concert halls and stages throughout the UK and internationally
Had the pleasure of supporting Bastille, Grandmaster Flash, Electric Six and Wretch 32
Perhaps most memorably — got to perform alongside Rick Astley!

Music has taken me to some incredible places, and I love sharing that enthusiasm in lessons.

My Approach to Teaching

My teaching philosophy is simple: music is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression available to us, and every student deserves to find their own voice within it.

Lessons are relaxed, student-centred and built around the music you actually want to play. There’s no rigid syllabus, no pressure to fit a mould, and no expectation that every student has the same goals. Some want to strum along to songs they love. Others want to perform, write their own music, or develop as versatile musicians. Many simply want a creative outlet that brings enjoyment into their lives. All of these are equally valid starting points.

I recognise that everyone learns differently, and I adapt my approach to suit each individual — whether they respond best to visual learning, practical exploration, structured theory, or a more intuitive, creative approach. The aim is always steady, meaningful progress in a way that feels encouraging and enjoyable.

Performance and the Wider Musical World

Because I’ve spent my career performing as well as teaching, I can draw on practical experience of what it actually feels like to prepare for and deliver a live performance — the mental side of it, managing nerves, developing confidence on stage, and playing well with others.

For students who are interested in performing — whether at a school event, an open mic, a wedding or beyond — I’m happy to incorporate that side of things into lessons. And for those curious about the broader music world, whether that’s how the live events industry works, what session musicianship involves, or how recordings are made, those conversations are always welcome too.

Supporting All Learners

I have experience teaching students with a wide range of learning styles and needs, including neurodivergent learners. I approach every student with patience, adaptability and a genuine interest in finding what works best for them individually.

Music can be a particularly powerful experience for students with ADHD, autism, anxiety and other learning differences, and I take care to make lessons feel safe, supportive and pressure-free for everyone.

Based in Chippenham, Teaching Across Wiltshire

I’m based in Chippenham and offer mobile tuition throughout North Wiltshire and the surrounding area, including Calne, Corsham, Devizes, Melksham, Malmesbury, Bradford on Avon, Bath, Tetbury, Lyneham and across the Cotswolds.

Online lessons are available for students anywhere in the UK.
